When you do not know how to make Wi-Fi settings for the mobile device
Display the Wi-Fi settings screen for the mobile device, select the network that you want to connect to, and then enter the password.

When you are using iPhone or iPad (iOS device)
Select [Settings] - [Wi-Fi] to display the Wi-Fi screen.
Turn on Wi-Fi, and then tap the network that you want to connect to from the network list. Enter the password on the password entry screen, and then tap [Join].

When you are using an Android device
Select [Settings] - [Wi-Fi] to display the Wi-Fi screen.
Turn on Wi-Fi, and then tap the network that you want to connect to from the network list. Enter the password for the network, and then tap [Connect].

When you do not know the password for the wireless router
Check if the information is written on the label of the wireless router. On the label, the passowrd may be written "Encryption Key", "XXX Key", and so on. If you are using the wireless router with its default settings, the password written on the label is used. If you cannot find any information, see the documentation provided with the wireless router.

When the mobile device is connected to a dedicated mobile router
When you have a wireless router (access point) for your computer, connect the smart device and the printer to it. When you do not have a wireless router, connect the printer to the mobile router that the smart device connects to.
When the printer is not connected to a network, select "Connecting via wireless router". When it is connected to a network, select "Connecting to a printer connected to the network".

When you do not want to connect the smart device to the Wi-Fi network (SSID) that the printer is connected to
Connect the printer and the smart device directly using Wi-Fi Direct. You can use the printer over a Wi-Fi connection using a wireless router and by direct connection using Wi-Fi Direct.

If you are using tethering (internet sharing) on the mobile device
You cannot connect to the printer from the smart device when you are using tethering on the smart device. Disable tethering, and then connect to the printer.
When the printer is not connected to a network, select "Connecting via wireless router". When it is connected to a network, select "Connecting to a printer connected to the network".
