Cute Stocking Advent Calendar

Let's make an advent calendar with 24 candy filled stocking shaped bags! Counting down to Christmas has never been this fun.

You will need...

  • A sheet of A4 size design paper (printed on plain paper)
  • String
  • Number stickers (for dates)

  • Scissors or any other cutting instrument
  • Glue
  • Ruler
  • Paper punch

Before you start

  • Make sure you have your design paper ready in advance.
  • Don't forget, you can print design paper using the smartphone app "Epson Creative Print". If your model comes with a design paper option built in, you can print it straight from the printer.

How to

  1. Cut one sheet of design paper into 4 parts of equal width. 1 sheet of design paper will make 1 stocking.
  1. Situate the paper vertically, and fold the top and bottom ends 15mm from the edges.
  2. Fold the paper in half, and then fold the bottom end up 7mm. Next, make a 20mm wide crease on the left side, and a 15mm wide crease on the right side.
  1. Using the creases as guides, cut 2 straight lines and an arch shaped line as shown in the image. The arch shape will be used to make the toe later.
  2. Open up the paper, and then refold it so that the folded parts become mountain folds.
  1. Fold it in two to make a flat part in the middle.
  2. Put glue on the shaded area.
  3. Attach it so that it fits under the folded part. Do the same on the opposite side.
  1. Make the toe of the stocking. Open up the part cut into an arch.
  2. Slightly fold the tips, and then apply glue to the shaded parts.
  3. Attach the opposite sides. This forms the toe.
  1. Punch a hole near the top and attach a piece of yarn, then put on the date using the number stickers.
7 Make 24 stocking bags, add treats, hang them all up and you're done!
Have fun making your own personalized stockings by varying the folds and sizes, and adding a variety of colorful stickers.

Slightly larger versions made by cutting A4 size paper in half vertically. Creating a wider bottom portion makes them stand out. Making boots full of candy is cute, too!
