You will need...

Materials:

Design paper printed on either A4 or A3 size plain paper
String
Pipe cleaners or ribbons (for styling)

Tools

Compass
Scissors
Glue or double-sided tape
Paper punch
Adhesive tape

Before you start

Make sure you have your design paper ready in advance.
Don’t forget, you can print design paper using the smartphone app "Epson Creative Print". If your model comes with a design paper option built in, you can print it straight from the printer.

How to

Using the compass, draw a half circle as shown with the black line in the picture.

If you don't have a compass, it's OK to draw a half circle with a pen or pencil using a plate with a diameter that is about the same as the length of the paper.

Cut out the half circle, and cut off about 1/4 as shown in the picture.

Turn it over, and apply glue to the area shown in blue in the picture.

Roll it up and attach the glued part to create a cone shape.

Make holes in two places at the bottom.

Pass some string through the holes and you're done! Tie the string under your chin when you wear your hat.

If you use some colorful string or ribbon, you can increase the cuteness and fun factor!

How about customizing your hats in cute ways by attaching some sparkly pipe cleaners or color ribbons to the points of the hats or wrapping them around the bases.

Prepare the pipe cleaners or ribbons. Since you'll only need a length of about 5 to 6 cm, you can use scraps of ribbon that didn't seem to have any other uses.

Make it round and tape the ends together.

Attach it to the tip of the hat from the backside using tape.

Roll it up and glue it together to finish the job!

You can also choose items like sparkly pipe cleaners and colorful ribbons in your favorite designs to decorate around the bottom of the hat! Try a cute style.

If you want to make a hat as big as the one on the left side of the picture, you can make one following the same procedure by either attaching two sheets of A4 size design paper to double the size, or printing on A3 size paper using a printer that can print A3 size.
