Introduction.
This privacy statement ("Privacy Statement") is designed to provide information about the privacy and data usage practices of Seiko Epson Corporation and its subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively referred to herein as "Epson", "we", "our" or "us") for the Epson Smart Panel and any other software products or software features that refer to, post a link to, or otherwise include this Privacy Statement (collectively the "Service"). This Privacy Statement does not apply to any other websites, applications or services.

In addition, please review any applicable terms and conditions, which govern your use of the Service.
If you use this service from a service provided by other companies (SNS, various apps, online storage service, etc., hereinafter called the "external service"), the information on the external service will be used for the following purposes:
- External service account: To obtain images / documents for printing with this service from external services
- External service account: To upload images / documents scanned by this service to an external service
- External service file access: To print the file specified by the customer
- External Service File Access: To save your scanned images
Information we collect through Google Analytics.
We will only use Google Analytics provided by Google Inc. to collect the following information if you opt-in to the usage survey of the Smart Panel Application (“Usage Survey”).

Information we collect via Usage Survey does not include identification information on the individual and will be used to improve the Service.
Google Analytics uses first party cookies to record information on the usage status of users.
Epson does not collect personally identifiable information via Google Analytics. Epson uses Google Analytics to help us measure usage trends including the following to view and analyze the application usage by you through the Usage Survey.
User information
- Version of the application
- Location and language
- Frequency of application usage and usage time
- MMost frequently used OS / device
- Age and gender
- Printer Serial Number
Number of users
- Trends in the number of new users who installed the application
Behavior information
- View status of each screen and total screen impressions per session
- The order and flow in which the screens were displayed
- Number of technical errors such as crash of application
- Time taken for each application element to read
- Function usage of application
- Connection status to device
- Print settings and number of printed pages
Opt-out.
You can prevent this data from being collected by opting out of the Usage Survey in the application's settings menu.
Other Information Collection
Epson collects information you provide directly to Epson via the Service. For example, Epson collects information when you create an account with Epson (including all information submitted as part of your account creation and product registration), subscribe to Epson notifications or marketing communication, use the Service, and when you engage with or communicate with Epson through the Service. The information Epson collects may include Personal Information. "Personal Information" is information that can be used to identify an individual (whether alone or in combination), such as first and last name and email address. We collect the following categories of information: basic identifiers (name, email address, phone number), device information, IP address, interactions with the Service, geolocation (if you enable). Please see the “Access to device function” and “access to data” sections below for additional details on the information we collect.
How we use information.
Based on the above information, Epson may use information from Usage Survey that we receive to understand user's behavior and continually improves user-friendly applications monitor metrics, diagnose or fix technology problems, develop and test new features. The aggregated information may be shared within the Epson affiliated companies. For a list of Epson affiliated companies, you can check the link below. Epson also uses information as further explained in this Privacy Statement.

How we store information.
The Usage Survey data is stored and processed by Google, and Epson uses and analyzes this information collected through the Usage Survey. Such information may be stored and processed in Japan.
Children’s Privacy.
Epson does not knowingly collect or solicit any information from anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such persons to register for the Application or Usage Survey. The Application or Usage Survey and its contents are not directed at children under the age of 13. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13 without parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.
Access to device function.
In order that you use the Application, the Application accesses following functions of your device.
- Camera: Camera function is accessed for printing the captured images.*
- Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi function is accessed for connecting the devices.*
- Bluetooth: Bluetooth function is accessed for connecting the devices.*
- Location: Identify and connect to the printer you are using.*
- Notifications: Notify you when product setup is complete.*
- Nearby device: Communicate with printer you are using.*
The Application accesses these functions, but Epson does not store or collect any access logs or contents that are printed through your device.
Access to data.
In order that you use the Application, the Application accesses the following data from your device.
- Folder access: The specified folders are accessed for saving scanned files.*
- Image files:
- The specified image files are accessed for printing them.*
- Hand over the scanned files to other cooperative application.*
- Document files:
- The specified document files are accessed for printing them.*
- Hand over the scanned files to other cooperative application.*
- Application Information: This data is accessed for enable launching from our printing application.*
- IP address: This data is accessed to communicate between the printer and the Application and to display the connected printer within the Application.
*Depending on OS version or devices, some functions may not be available.
The Application accesses these files, but Epson does not store or collect any access logs or contents that are projected through your device.
When you print documents in some formats on your Android device, we upload the documents to Google Drive for conversion to PDF format.
We use an encrypted route to communicate with Google Drive. Any temporary data generated for printing will be deleted immediately after printing is complete.
We do not collect or store your Google data.

Complaints, inquiries, and requests for disclosure. You should direct any complaints, inquiries, and requests pertaining to this Privacy Statement to the Privacy Coordinator. You can terminate your use of the Service by following the instructions set forth in the applicable terms of service, or by uninstalling and deleting the software or application.

Notice to California Residents and Other U.S. State Residents
These additional disclosures apply only to individuals who reside in U.S. states that have passed comprehensive privacy laws, including California. California law requires us to provide notice at collection and disclose information with respect to our privacy practices. A. Categories of Personal Information We Collect, Our Purposes for Collection and Use, and How We Share It.
We collect and use information as explained in the “Information we collect through Google Analytics” and the “Other Information Collection.” We use the information collected to provide the Service to you, to manage it, and to improve it as explained above. We engage with different types of entities for assistance with our daily operations and management of the Service (our Service Providers) and therefore share information with them as appropriate. Our Services Providers are bound by contractual obligations to secure and limit their use of your information as required by applicable laws. We may also share Personal Information with our affiliate companies and subsidiaries in other countries, which are required to secure Personal Information they receive and only use it as authorized by us. Our affiliates may also assist us in responding to your privacy inquiries and fulfilling your privacy rights as required by applicable law. We retain your Personal Information for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Statement, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. Please note that in many situations we must retain all, or a portion, of your Personal Information to comply with our legal obligations; resolve disputes; enforce our agreements; protect against fraudulent, deceptive, or illegal activity; or for another recognized business purpose.
B. Your Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know, correct, delete the Personal Information we have collected from you and the right to know certain information about our data practices in the preceding 12 months. You also have non-discrimination right for exercising your privacy rights. You have the right to request the following from us:

- The categories of sources from which Personal Information was collected;
- The categories of Personal Information about you we disclosed for a business purpose or sold;
- The categories of Service Providers and contractors to whom the Personal information was disclosed for a business purpose or sold;

- The specific pieces of Personal Information we have collected about you.
Privacy laws also allow you to request the transfer of your personal information to another party in a digital form. Where you have provided your consent to our information processing, including consent to receive marketing communications, you have the right to withdraw it or unsubscribe at any time. In the request, please specify which right you are seeking to exercise. We will confirm receipt of your request within the timelines set by law. For requests to know, correct, or delete, as authorized by applicable laws, we may require specific information from you to help us properly verify your identity and process your request. If we are unable to verify your identity, we may deny your requests to know, correct, or delete. If you don’t agree with our decision, you have the right to appeal as permitted by applicable law by sending us an e-mail at epson.privacy@ea.epson.com and responding to any follow-up inquiries or requests we may have. Epson does not knowingly collect, solicit, or sell information from anyone under the age of 13.
We maintain reasonable and appropriate physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards designed to help protect your Personal Information. While we attempt to protect your Personal Information in our possession, no method of transmission over the internet or security system is perfect, and we cannot promise that information about you will remain secure in all circumstances.
C. Authorized Agent.
You can designate an authorized agent to submit privacy requests on your behalf. As authorized by the CCPA, we may require written proof of the agent’s permission to do so.
D. Shine the Light.
Customers who are residents of California may request (i) a list of the categories of personal information disclosed by us to third parties during the immediately preceding calendar year for those third parties’ own direct marketing purposes; and (ii) a list of the categories of third parties to whom we disclosed such information. To exercise a request, please write us at the email or postal address set out in “Contact Us” above and specify that you are making a “California Shine the Light Request.” We may require additional information from you to allow us to verify your identity and are only required to respond to requests once during any calendar year.
E. Additional U.S. Notices.
Nevada consumers may submit requests directing businesses not to sell certain kinds of personal information that the business has collected or will collect about the consumer. A sale under Nevada law is the exchange of personal information for monetary consideration by the business to a third party for the third party to license or sell the personal information to other third parties.
