You will need...

Materials:

  • Plain paper (A4 size, or letter size)

Tools

  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Ruler

How to

Print paper

  1. Use the "Epson Creative Print" smartphone app. Tap "Collage" on the home screen to select it.
  2. Tap "New".
  3. Tap the horizontal white paper at the very top to select it.
  1. The white paper is displayed on the editing screen. Tap the menu icon in the lower left.
  2. Tap "Change background" at the very bottom of the displayed menu.
  3. A selection of patterns is displayed. Tap on your favorite pattern to select and display it.
  1. Tap the settings icon on the left.
  2. Select "Alternate" from "Layout" to make the arrangement of the pattern like the one shown in the illustration.
  3. Tap the menu icon in the lower left again.
  1. Tap "Add text" to select it from the menu.
  2. Enter the text you want to appear on your box. Choose your favorite colors and fonts!
  3. The text will be part of the layout, so adjust the position and size of the text, and then tap "Next" in the lower right to print. Using illustration stamps or other effects other than text will create a fun box, so feel free to play around with your design.

Make folds

  1. Fold over the top about 5 mm, and then fix it with glue.
  1. Make vertical and horizontal mountain folds in the areas shown with broken lines.
  1. Make a valley fold in the area of the broken line shown in the middle of the upper part of the white square at the top of the paper.
  1. As shown in the picture, use a ruler to make valley folds from the end of the first valley fold to the left and right corners of the square.
  1. Make similar valley folds in the other white square at the top of the paper.

Assembly

  1. Overlap the left and right edges, and fix them with glue so that they make a square tube.
  2. Make cuts in the bottom 4 corners as shown in the picture. Cut all the way to the horizontal fold made in the bottom section in step 2 of the "Make folds" section.
  1. Fold in the left and right sides.
  2. Put glue on the upper and lower flaps, and then fold them over to glue them down. Although the white surface of the paper is facing outward in the picture, your box would also be fancy with the patterned surface facing outward.
  1. Make folds in the opening along the previously made fold lines, as shown in the picture.
  2. Glue the right half closed as shown in the picture. Open up the left half again, and make a firm fold.

—Style 1—

When making a gift box, don't glue together the top edges, but fold it over to close it.

—Style 2—

You can make a shorter box by making deeper cuts into the bottom. Add a photo when printing with the app to create your own original cookie box!

—Style 3—

Try adding images and stamps to match the occasion!

—Style 4—

When giving a thank you gift, add the name of the recipient for a personal touch!
