Flower Popcorn Cup

Add some charm to your party food with these cups with flower petal features. Put some treats in them and decorate your table. They are easy to hold, making them perfect for picnics!
We'll be introducing two types: the cone type, and the bucket type.

You will need...

Materials:

  • Design paper printed on A4 size paper (either plain paper or Photo Quality Ink Jet paper (Presentation Paper Matte))

Tools

  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Awl or auger
  • Pipe cleaners

Before you start

  • Make sure you have your design paper ready in advance.
  • Don't forget, you can print design paper using the smartphone app "Epson Creative Print". If your model comes with a design paper option built in, you can print it straight from the printer.
  • When putting food items inside, be careful that they do not come into direct contact with the printed surface.

Making a cone shaped container

  1. Fold the design paper as in the picture, leaving a small section of the triangular shape unfolded, and cut it along the line as shown.
  1. Put some glue on the remaining flap, and fold it over and attach it to make a triangular bag.
  1. With the corner of the closed side of the triangular bag as the vertex, make a valley fold as shown with the dashed line.
  1. Fold it one more time, this time making a mountain fold as shown with the dashed line.
  1. Make arc shaped cuts as shown in the picture, fold the arc shaped parts outward like flower petals, and it's finished!

Making a bucket shaped container

  1. Make the cone shape into four equal parts by making cuts along the folds from the tip of the cone to about half the length of the cone shape.
  2. Open up the portion that was cut, and cut the tips of the points shorter to match the size of the bottom.
  1. Fold and overlap the cut parts and glue them together.
  2. Fold all four of the cut parts and glue them together to close the bottom.
  1. Turn it over and it's done!
  1. Make holes in two places with an awl or auger and insert and fix a pipe cleaner for a cute handle version.
